Modly on three.ws
Make 3D on your own graphics card.
Modly is a free, open-source app that turns images into 3D models on your own GPU. three.ws connects to it straight from this page: your image never leaves your machine, there is no queue and no quota, and the finished model comes back here to preview, clean up and save. See every way to use Modly with three.ws.

Not connected
Leave it empty to use Modly's default port, 8765 on this computer. Only fill it in if you changed the port.
Connect to check whether Modly is running on this computer. Your browser may ask whether three.ws can reach apps on your device: allow it, since that is exactly the connection being made.
Looking for Modly.
Modly is not running on this computer. Install it once, start it, and connect again.
- Download Modly for Windows, Linux or Apple Silicon macOS from modly3d.app or its latest GitHub release.
- Open the app. It starts its local server on port 8765 in the background. Keep it open while you work here.
- Add a model from Modly's Models page with Install from GitHub. You can also do this after connecting; this page lists the official ones.
Already running? Check that the address above matches Modly's port, and that your browser lets this site reach apps on your device (Chrome and Edge ask once; Brave has a per-site setting for it).
Your browser blocked the connection to your computer. This site was refused access to apps on your device earlier.
- Click the site settings icon at the left of the address bar.
- Set Local network access for three.ws to Allow.
- Press Retry. Modly only answers on your own machine, so nothing on your network is exposed.
Safari does not let secure pages reach apps on your computer. It treats Modly's local http:// address as insecure content and blocks it, with no setting to allow it.
Open three.ws/modly in Chrome, Edge or Firefox on this Mac, or use the three.ws Forge desktop app. Modly itself works the same either way.

Model
No models installed in Modly yet. Modly runs models as extensions. Add one, then press Refresh.
- In Modly, open Models and click Install from GitHub.
- Paste one of the repository links below and confirm.
- Download the model weights when Modly offers to. Or skip this: the first generation downloads them.
No GPU to spare? The three.ws Cloud extension adds hosted generators to Modly that need no weights at all.

three.ws Forge for desktop
A desktop studio built on Modly with three.ws inside it: local open-source generators and the three.ws cloud side by side, node-based mesh workflows, and your three.ws account signed in.

- The Publish to three.ws node comes built in.
- No browser permission prompts, works in every browser setup.

Modly extension
three.ws Cloud generator
Adds three.ws Forge to Modly's model list. No GPU, no weights, no setup: image, text and sketch to 3D on hosted lanes, plus a humanoid auto-rigger and a quad remesher, all as Modly nodes.
- Install: clone the folder, then Link local folder on Modly's Models page.
- Once linked it shows up here too, in the model list above.

Modly workflow node
Publish to three.ws
A process node that saves any mesh flowing through a Modly workflow into your three.ws account, where it gets a shareable 3D page, an embed and an AI agent. Humanoid meshes are auto-rigged.
